In January 2024, Syscons held the workshop “Work and Stress” to promote mental health and well-being in the workplace. Led by Dr. Ambrogio Zaia, an occupational psychologist with extensive experience in management consulting, the event provided participants with practical tools to manage work-related stress and foster a healthy work-life balance.
Workshop Objectives
Held in three online sessions, the workshop allowed broad participation and interactive reflection on the main factors contributing to professional stress. During the sessions, participants explored stress dynamics and physiological responses, identified types of work-related stressors and strains, and discussed effective coping strategies. The importance of “Work-Family Balance” was also emphasized as a means to reduce work-life conflicts and encourage a positive “Work-Family Enrichment” approach.
Topics and Practical Tools
The workshop offered participants the chance to identify sources of stress, categorized into:
- Intrinsic stressors, such as workload demands
- Role-related factors and interpersonal relationships
- Career advancement opportunities
Participants were introduced to both problem-focused and emotional-support coping strategies, considered essential for creating a balanced and productive work environment.
The “Stress Management” social media campaign
To extend these key messages beyond the workshop, Syscons launched the Stress Management (#GestioneStress) campaign on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Through eight targeted posts, this series captured the workshop's core themes, offering practical stress-management tips to the broader community and supporting the promotion of psychological well-being in the workplace.
