Our client required a sophisticated yet simple demand planning solution to improve demand forecasts and profitability. Their fragmented ERP system caused productivity issues in the demand planning activities, due to duplicated information and manual data entry. The use of multiple Excel sheets leading to errors and disorganized data.
The Solution & The Benefits
In 6 months, we optimized demand planning using a hybrid-agile approach and configuring the demand planning module in SAP Integrated Business Planning, a cloud-based solution. We implemented statistical forecasting to automate sales plans based on historical data, established a consensus process to unify data input from all departments, and integrated SAP IBP with ERP systems to centralize and automate processes while reducing errors. We also addressed change management by reviewing the organizational structure and updating roles, responsibilities, and training requirements.
The benefits obtained include a unified demand plan, automation of key performance indicators, accurate short- and long-term demand forecasts, and integrated systems.
